The Saco Lake Bath House is a study involving the combination of housing hikers traveling along the nearby trails, and bath house visitors who are relaxing by immersing themselves in nature.

The baths are separated by temperature which define the social experience of each pool. The tepidarium, which is both the largest pool and the most mild temperature pool (100°F), allows for more space for socializing between guests. The caldarium, which is the hottest pool (122°F) is an immersive experience descending into the earth. It is a more meditative space, with light filtering in through the wooden slat walls as the main source of light. And finally, the frigidarium, typically kept at temperatures of 55°F, is a cold plunge bath for the daring individual on their way back to the sleeping spaces.
